Discovering Exotic Design – Badia Design Inc

Congratulations, you’ve decided to decorate your new home, a vacation home or just want a new home makeover. And you have also decided to go with a exotic theme and you will most likely need to hire an Interior Designer. In this case, the designer is Jane Dixon, ASID, (IDesign180), and the client has asked for an exotic and authentic Moroccan style décor. So, Jane knows exactly where to find the best and largest Moroccan showroom in California, called Badia Design, Inc, located in North Hollywood. The first experience can be overwhelming, so the discovery process needs some initial guidance, so meeting with one of the owners is the best bet to assist with her design concepts and clients needs.

LA’s Moroccan Emporium

LA’s Moroccan Emporium: Badia Design by Sarah
Issue 24 · Channeling Marrakech · June 11, 2012

Where do Johnny Depp, James Franco, and Sting source their Moroccan decor? Badia Design in LA, an under-the-radar emporium frequented by decorators, artists, architects, and educated bazaar shoppers.

Our friend David John recently made the trek to North Hollywood to see what the buzz was all about; here’s his report: “The first time I visited Badia, I was amazed at the vast amount of Moroccan goods they carried. The owners have been importing furniture, lighting, and rugs from Morocco for the past 20 years, and the showroom features room after room of artisan-made, handcrafted works. If you decide to make an excursion, be sure to take note of the exact address, as the storefront is easily missed (keep an eye out for the large metal decorative doors marking the entrance).”

Ancient art of Moroccan tiles play an important role in our daily life!

Moroccan tile is one of the main characteristics of the Moroccan architecture. It consists of geometrical mosaics made from ceramic used mainly as an ornament for walls, ceilings, fountains, floors, pools, tables, etc. Moroccan tiles market, through the years, has been rising due to its benefits and advantages over carpeting. Our tiles are handmade, hand-glazed and hand-cut, they are available in traditional designs and colors.
